Spring-Ford seniors traveled across Lewis Road to Coach McNelly Stadium on May 1 to commemorate their high school journey with one of the most anticipated annual 12th-grade experiences – Decision Day.

“I loved seeing all the diversity, and all the colleges… just having a good time,” said Brayden Hinkle, who plans to enter the military after graduation.

Decision Day is when the seniors – dressed in their chosen college’s apparel – get to showcase their futures and share what they plan to do after high school.

This event has grown a lot over the years. This annual tradition first started in the Future Planning Center and has since moved to the football field, where it typically lasts from 9-11 a.m.

Friends, family, and Spring-Ford staff members joined the seniors for their big day and spent the time playing games, taking pictures, and reminiscing over their high school years.

“I got to hang out with my friends, and not go to class,” said Owen Layman, who plans to study biology at Penn State Berks. “Play hacky sack and stuff like that.”

This year’s decision day had a remarkable turnout, bringing together record numbers of family and staff in attendance. There is a lot that is done to make this event possible like planning and setting it up.

“I am so grateful for the individuals who help make this event happen every year,” College and Career Advisor Maggie Lusignea said. “Decision Day is truly my favorite day of the year.”
