The leaves begin to crunch along the cracked, hard sidewalk below. Making her way into school on a chilly Monday morning, the cool and crisp leaves fall lyrically around the bearing trees.
While out along her autumn stroll, Spring-Ford senior Aubrey Blake finds herself staring at the big fur coats, brown boots, and baggy dark-wash jeans.
“I find myself getting intertwined with the ever-changing fall trends, especially this year,” Blake said.
Blake is a big advocate for recent fashion and loves to discuss her favorite new trends. Blake states she has been inspired by the many different aesthetics. Styles range from the comfier aspect of clothing, as the concept of matching sets and sweatpants have been highly popular among Spring-Ford students.
Numerous patterns are high on the trending charts, especially along certain social media platforms. Cheetah and leopard prints are found on many different pieces, from shoes, shirts, to even purses.
This fall, the weather amongst the Spring-Ford district altered from 30 degree mornings, to the high 70s in the afternoons. Having to advocate for the biting cold and sweltering heat left many students in a confused state with their clothing options.
“I personally haven’t been focused on the trends this year, rather the bizarre weather,” Spring-Ford senior Lila Eppler said. “Why is it 80 degrees in November?”
A common decision with this unpredictable fall, was whether to wear a sweatshirt or T-shirt to school. Classrooms were also been unpredictable in regards to temperature, too, making it difficult to dress for the right degree.
When looking into fashion brands for this past autumn, many stories of fluctuating trends have passed around. According to a recent article by Vogue, specific colors are catching many eyes, as stated in “to embrace a moodier winter palette as opposed to a new silhouette, there is color and print aplenty—leopard, dark chocolate, and burgundy (an evolution of last year’s red).”
Dark shades are enhancing many outfits this season, setting the scene for simple statement pieces. The sporty style, however, has been in control, as track pants are becoming an immense staple to many closets.
“I think seeing many different styles of outfits around school have inspired me nonetheless,” Blake said. “No matter what may be trending online, I still find inspiration through various outfit combinations from Spring-Ford students.”
