Spring-Ford High School’s Vocal Ensemble visited the Pennsylvania State Capitol for Music in Our Schools Month, an official recognition of the benefits of music education in schools.
Spring-Ford boasts a large and successful music program. From the district’s decorated Golden Rams Marching Band to our elementary schools’ music classes, it is a core part of the Spring-Ford Area School District and community.
The Vocal Ensemble sang a combination of their fall and spring repertoire in the rotunda of the State Capitol Building. The acoustics brought to life pieces like “Pie Jesu”, “America the Beautiful”, and “Walk Out on the Water.”
Vocal Ensemble members in Vox Aires Chamber Choir, Jazz Choir, and Golden Voices showcased some of their pieces as well.
During the hour of performing, the group serenaded visitors, school groups, and government employees, including Pennsylvania State Representative Joe Webster.
“When I pass through everyday, ‘Walk Out on the Water’ will still be ringing [in the rotunda],” Webster said to the choir.
“I will always remember that. Thank you so much for coming.”
