Students developed plans, gathered with friends, and matched outfits Sept. 26 for Dress Alike Day at Spring-Ford.
Students identified their favorite costumes worn on this day that stood out, including a group of girls dressed as chickens and the Ed Sheeran contingent.
“Our friend group every year likes to do something funny for (Dress Alike) Days. Sophomore year we were Caillou, last year we (were) “Where’s Waldo,” said senior Erin Zimmerman with a laugh. “This year we wanted to do something different and random, but also really, really funny. It was honestly really fun to be a chicken for a day, but I would never do it again because the costume was really itchy, but definitely a costume to remember.”
Broadcasting teacher Cheryl Murgia also agreed this was a costume to remember after seeing many amazing costumes come and go through the SF halls.
However, her all-time favorite costume was a couple of years ago, when a student dressed as Michael Jackson for Dress Alike Day but with a twist. He had puppets of miniature Michael Jacksons attached to his arms, moving every time he did.
“Out of all the costumes I’ve seen, that was definitely one of the best and one of the most creative I remember,” Murgia said.
The best Dress Alike Day outfit of the day, though, were the girls who dressed as the iconic and talented Ed Sheeran.
“My friends and I are very big concert and music fans,” senior Gianna DiBattista said. “Last year we were Justin Bieber, so this year we wanted to be something iconic and out there, so why not Ed Sheeran?”
