Walking down the Room 100s hallway of the Spring-Ford 9th Grade Center, one can hear “¿Hola, cómo estás?” from Spanish teacher Noah Clinard as he stands outside of his classroom to greet students.

This is just one of the small acts of kindness that come from Clinard, making an incredible first impression on countless students, teachers, and staff.

Clinard’s bubbly personality has been present ever since the beginning of the school year. However, he felt a little anxiety at the start.

“I was very nervous for my first year of teaching,” he said. “While I felt that my degree prepared me properly for the job, it is always nerve-racking to start a new job and have to meet all new people.

“I absolutely love teaching as a profession! I thoroughly enjoy interacting with students and teachers daily.”

It seems as though Clinard has had years of experience. After being asked about what encouraged him to pursue teaching, he pointed to educators he knew as a student.

“My former Spanish teachers and other former teachers inspired me to become a teacher,” he said. “I always knew that I wanted to teach. When I was deciding on my college major, I was torn between English and Spanish. I decided that I wanted to teach Spanish because I just enjoyed the content more than English. If I were not a teacher, I would be interested in becoming an interpreter or translator for the government.”

The first-year teacher has thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

“My favorite part of teaching is the ability to watch my students grow from the beginning of the year to the end and to help them become good people,” Clinard said.

“I am even more excited for next school year in terms of different activities/games to try with my classes to promote an environment of learning.”

Clinard has a bright career ahead of him, and hopefully, his future school years will be as enjoyable as this one.
