I attended Taylor Swift’s “Eras Tour” on Sunday during the Philadelphia May shows, the eighth stadium stop of the tour.

It is a very special event for the artist and Swifties, the name for diehard Taylor Swift fans, because Swift performed songs from each of her albums, also known as her “eras.” It was amazing to get to experience each of her albums and relive those iconic moments she had while in those eras.

I have been a Swiftie for as long as I can remember, so this tour has been a really exciting event I’ve been looking forward to for months – after luckily grabbing tickets during the whole Ticketmaster fiasco that marked her tour start.

The show was especially memorable to Swift because it was in her hometown. Philadelphia Swifties filled not only the inside of the stadium but the outside of too. It was packed with Swifties who weren’t able to get tickets but enjoyed the show from the outside.

All three nights in Philly were magical for both Swift and her fans.

Overall, it was a night I will never forget.

I attended the concert with my mom and my friend. The three of us arrived pretty early, around 2:15 p.m., because we had heard how long the lines were. We went in a line at around 3:15 p.m., which wrapped around the whole parking lot. Once the doors opened, the line thankfully moved very quickly.

Once in the stadium, we headed straight for the merch line which thankfully also went by fast. All of the employees were extremely polite and efficient, which helped things go smoothly.

Our seats were in section 203, row 15, and they were the perfect seats. Although they were not on the concert floor, I had the best view where we could see both Swift and the whole stadium light up. The light-up bracelets were another thing I loved about the night. Every person at the concert received bracelets that shined with colors corresponding to Swift’s performances. For example, during her song “Lavender Haze,” bright purple lights filled the stadium.

Another aspect about the concert I loved was the friendship bracelet trading. Swifties came up with the idea to make bracelets corresponding to Swift’s songs, albums, eras, and more. Then, at the concert, fans could trade them with other Swifties. It was truly such a special moment to connect with people who shared the same passion for Taylor Swift as me.

As far as what was happening on the stage, Swift’s performances were flawless.

Every album had its own outfit change, scenery, choreography and lights shining on the bracelets. It is truly impressive that Swift continues to put on such an amazing show each night of the tour. You can tell how much fun Swift and her backup dancers have while out on the stage. They are all extremely talented and put on a spectacular concert.

My favorite part of the concert was when it was time for the surprise songs. The setlist for each night is mainly the same, however at a certain point Swift surprises her fans with two songs that are different at each concert.

It was thrilling not knowing what songs you would get and even more exciting screaming them at the top of your lungs once you figured out what was playing. I was lucky enough to get the songs “Hey Stephen” and “The Best Day.” It was such a surreal moment to sing those live.

Overall, this concert was unbelievable. Although it took a lot of work and was rough getting tickets, it was worth every second of it. I wish that everyone could experience it and if you are one of the lucky ones who will, make sure to cherish every moment. So when you attend the concert and hear Swift say, “Welcome to the Eras Tour” be prepared to have the best night of your life.
