Spring-Ford swimmers make splash at States

Senior Maris Sadowski, junior Sydney Koehler, sophomore Abby Koehler and senior Ashley Gutshall finished seventh in the PIAA championships in the 200 yard medley relay.

The boys and girls swim teams enjoyed incredible seasons, with the girls finishing a program-best 15th overall at the PIAA 3A State Championships.

Ashley Gutshall led the way for the Rams as she earned her third straight 50-yard freestyle medal with a seventh-place finish. Gutshall won a second individual medal in the 100 freestyle at sixth place.

Teammate Sydney Koehler re-broke her team record in the 100 breaststroke to finish 16th in the state and be selected as an All State Honorable Mention.

On Friday, the girls 200 yard medley relay of Maris Sadowski, Koehler, Abby Koehler, and Gutshall earned Spring-Ford’s first medley relay medal in team history with a seventh-place finish. These same four also made it back to finals in the 200 free relay to place 16th and garner All State Honorable Mention honors.

The boys medley relay of Patrick Baganski, Blaise Sadowski, Dylan Dayrit, and Nate Reagan finished in 17th at states. Patrick Baganski however earned a trip back in the evening finishing with All State Honorable Mention status in the 50 Free with a 14th place finish. He also individually competed in the 100 backstroke.
