Staff Report

Spring-Ford’s wrestling team just enjoyed an incredibly historic individual postseason this month, with seniors Jack McGill winning a silver medal and Joey Milano capturing the program’s first gold at the PIAA Class AAA Championships.

As it turned out, they are not finished with re-writing the record books just yet.

The Rams upended Quakertown and then rolled to a 34-27 victory over West Chester Henderson this Saturday to claim their second-straight District One Class AAA Team Duals Championship. The Rams had won the program’s first-ever championship last season, and now they have a second.

Matt Offner (145), Zach Needles (160), McGill (172), Joey Milano (215), Cole Smith (106), Dominic Ortlip (113), and Quinn Smith (126) each picked up victories in the championship game. The Rams led the whole way, sparked by Needles’ come-from-behind victory at 160.

The Rams host District Two champion Delaware Valley on Wednesday in the PIAA Class AAA Quarterfinals as they look to add more victories to this historic season.
