In what is only the second season of the Spring-Ford bowling team, a Rams bowler hit a milestone that will be one to remember.

Coming off of a very successful season in Spring-Ford’s first season, Sam Leornard was looking to improve a season where he saw many wins and a lot of success.

In a bowling match at Limerick bowl against the Norristown Eagles, Sam Leonard, one of the top bowlers for the Rams couldn’t have known what was to come for him in this bowling match.

In this match Leonard was able to achieve every bowling player’s dream which is to bowl a perfect game. Bowling a perfect game is a very difficult thing to achieve because if you mess up in the slightest it’s over. Basically, one needs to only throw strikes in every frame to accomplish the feat.

Once bowling his first six strikes Leornard knew that there was a possibility that he could do it in the back of his mind.

“It was kind of a little bit of hope … this is my shot” Learnard said “It was a little nerve-wracking.”

Leonard’s coach Ryan Souder said that everyone was watching but they all knew that it was something you just don’t talk about as it’s happening.

“It was very funny because everyone knew what was happening, but everyone knew that they had to stay quiet, and not say anything,” Souder said. “It’s one of those situations where you just have to act normal, so we just tried to make him laugh and joke with him to keep his mind off of it.”

Once feeling the pressure Leonard knew that he needed to just forget about what was happening, stick to the basics, and just play the sport that he loved.

“You get a little scared with eyes on you.” Leonard said. “That’s where you have to kick into your regular routine and stick with what you know.”

And that’s exactly what Leonard did, he stuck with the basics and just took it one bowl at a time and was able to achieve a milestone that many bowlers dream of — bowing the perfect game.
